- 1 in 6 U.S. children aged 2-8 years (17.4%) had a diagnosed mental, behavioral, or developmental disorder
- The prevalence of any anxiety disorder among adolescents was higher for females (38.0%) than for males (26.1%).
- Anxiety or depression among children aged 6–17 years increased from 5.4% in 2003 to 8% in 2007 and to 8.4% in 2011–2012.
- An estimated 49.5% of adolescents aged 13-17 have a mental disorder.
- Globally, one in seven, 10-19 years olds (13%) experience a mental disorder.
- 1 in 7 children have experienced child abuse or neglect in the past year (2020).
- 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 5 boys will be sexually abused before they reach eighteen.
